"I'm the Main Character" is the 22nd episode of Battle for Dream Island Again, the 47th episode in-universe and the 97th episode overall. This episode premiered on July 19th on the BFDI X Inanimate Insanity 2025 Tour, and was later released on August 8th at 4:15:18 PM PDT on YouTube. This episode features the Cake at Stake following "Launch Party" and the next contest.

Plot[]
Cold Open[]
The episode starts with Bomby, Nickel, Yellow Face, and Rocky rebuilding The Highway, while Golf Ball is standing on it, in a bad mood. Nickel says rebuilding the bridge is tiring, and Yellow Face shows off his Pure Concrete shop, shortly before Golf Ball smashes it with a hammer for being unnecessary. Bomby thanks Golf Ball for destroying Yellow Face's "Unnecessary waste" before Golf Ball says his shop is even more unnecessary. Bomby says he has a surplus inside. But nobody can come in because the door is just concrete. Yellow Face says Bomby can buy his hydraulic press that presses concrete into a door. Bomby uses Nickel to buy it, but Golf Ball throws it out before they can use it. Bomby tries to pull the "door" open, but can't get a grip. Nickel says glue can help, and Bomby tries to pull it open with glue on his hands, but falls in the water and drowns, still glued to the shop. Nickel, Yellow Face and Rocky stand there, sad until Golf Ball tells them to get back to work. They continue, but Nickel thinks they don't have enough to build the whole bridge.

In Yoyleland, Leafy is sitting against the HPRC, still sad from the events of the previous episode. The LOL flies over and drops a cupcake and a note saying: "You're the next host, you menace." Leafy reads the note and then begins smiling like she did in "Sweet Tooth".
After the intro[]
After the intro, we see Coiny and Pin finishing up the rebuilt Dream Island. Coiny tries to lift it, but can't, so Pin instead lifts it up with her point. We see Needle looking at them, sad. Tennis Ball tries to be nice to Needle by saying he will always be by her side, but she walks away, clearly unamused. Book confronts Tennis Ball saying that he should be more sensitive. Book, hypocritically ignoring her confrontation with Tennis Ball, says the same, but Needle cuts her off, saying, 'Not now, Book'. Book says to Tennis Ball that the vibes of the final 5 seem off, but Tennis Ball tells her she's lucky she doesn't need to adhere to Needle's deal and dramatically falls to the floor with a spotlight over him, saying that 'He's doomed'. Book asks if everyone is filled with doom and gloom, before Coiny and Pin show off the newly rebuilt Dream Island. Tennis Ball grimaces as he is reminded of what he's battling for, and says that they'll never get to see the original Dream Island. Coiny says whoever wins it will be happy, to which Pin says that'll be her, as 'she's the main character'. Coiny says it's totally her getting out, and Pin says the opposite. Then the Fish monster appears and says they'll find out who's out at Cake at Stake.
Cake at Stake[]
After the Cake at Stake intro, the Fish monster welcomes the contestants. Pin says Coiny is out, he says she'll be out, and Pin forces a laugh and says she probably will. Needle, Tennis Ball, and Book had immunity and got a beautiful, flavorful, durian-infused ambrosia that the Fish monster had eaten. (a potato for Needle) The votes are about to be revealed, but Leafy gets in the way before it happens. Leafy says her friend got eliminated, which Coiny and Pin both claim not to be, and Leafy pulls her knife out. Tennis Ball asks who's safe, and the Triangle Speaker Box (In a ballpit) says Coiny is safe. Leafy steps out of the way, revealing Coiny got 109,655 likes and 24,308 dislikes, and Pin got 43,656 likes and 45,806 dislikes. Pin is mad that heroic leaders like her can be eliminated, and that she lost her face, size, and ability to swing with Ice Cube, just to be eliminated like that. Pin asks Coiny to console her, and he says she doesn't need consoling, as she's become stronger with her Mech Suit and mental fortitude. Pin asks for her limbs back, which the Fish monster tries, and she gets them back and does a cartwheel, until it's revealed she was hallucinating. The Fish Monster asks what Leafy is doing here, and she says she's the new host. She asks if they can host together, but the Fish Monster refuses and chomps all the contestants (including Pin and Leafy) up and spits them out in the Area where Leafy and Pin were last episode. Coiny lands in a sandbox, Tennis Ball, Book and Needle land on a slide and slide down it, Pin lands on one side of the seesaw, and Leafy floats to the other, launching Pin into the air; After this, Leafy says that this season is all hers. Pin is glad she's out, since Leafy is hosting; Leafy refuses to eliminate her since "true allies never eliminate each other", but Pin simply leaves herself, while still trying to do a cartwheel. Tennis Ball asks Leafy if she can really handle being a host, to which she responds with a yes, reasoning that she spent the last five nights writing fun activities they can do for the challenge, and that host is synonymous with friend; Book points out this isn't true using one of her pages, to which Leafy simply changes the text on it. Leafy exclaims that she will be the best host ever, but Coiny says that she hasn't even given him a prize; Leafy nervously hands him Pin's battery, after which he gives it back to Pin.
Challenge[]
Needle asks what the challenge will be, and Leafy responds by bringing out the wheel, which now has "with leafy" scribbled in on every option. The wheel lands on "Claim the most territory", which entails taking Leafy to a travel destination, and if she likes her time there, she plants a Friendship Flag for the person that took her there; Whoever has the most flags planted when Leafy doesn't have any more, is the one that wins immunity from elimination.

Leafy says this season is all hers, since the Fish Monster wasn't interested in hosting. Pin says maybe she's glad she's out, since Leafy is hosting, and asks Leafy to fling her away, but Leafy says true allies never eliminate each other, but Pin leaves. Tennis Ball asks Leafy if she can handle hosting, and she says she can, as she's been writing fun activities they can do together. She says Host is synonymous with Friend. Book searches it up in herself, before seeing they aren't synonymous. Leafy says it is synonymous, before erasing the not equal sign between the two words and drawing an equals sign between them. The Friendship flag appear Grass with Leafy she destroyed, Mt. Everest was Needle slap Friendship flag with Leafy she destroyed! Now for 5 teams just you get it's a Evil Forest, Leafy and Needle, Pan Flute being stretched, 5 pipes Book one friendship flag, Coiny one friendship flag, Needle two friendship flag and Tennis Ball terrible zero friendship flags these is Tennis Ball with Car Needle slap again.
Stinger[]
The WTFers mock Pin and recap what happened in the end of the challenge while they play ring around the Rosie around the "Pig Yum!". While they are playing, Ruby interrupts and asks Golf Ball what happened to the "warriors" (the contestants) in the "fairy-tale" (the end of the challenge) she told her. Golf Ball replies, telling her the Earth healed itself, closing the crack and entrapping the "warriors" forever. When Pencil asks Golf Ball if they could recover the "warriors" like Pin and Woody, Golf Ball declines due to Pin violating BFDIA contest protocol and her forgetting who Woody is. Woody (with Pin's mech suit) then arrives on the "Pig Yum!". Everyone cheers for him until they realize he's wearing Pin's mech suit, disgusting the WTFers and causing them to move away. After the WTFers finish moving away, Woody places a flag on the "Pig Yum!" and starts relaxing.

- This was the second BFDIA episode to premiere in a BFDI X Inanimate Insanity Tour, following ‘PointyPointyPointy ♫’.
- This was the first BFDIA episode that Cary Huang wrote since "Respect to the Wicked".
- This was also the first BFDIA episode Cary Huang wrote that released in 2025.
- Dream Island is shown to still be perfectly fine during this episode, making it unclear as to why it's underground and destroyed, as shown in TPOT 7.
- However, a future event could properly explain how it ended up underground.
- Coiny has broken the record for the most votes with 109,655, breaking Tennis Ball's previous record at 78,622 in "🥚" and Pencil's previous at 71,817 in "Bottle For Dream Island".
- This makes him the first contestant to ever receive over 100,000 votes in a single elimination.
- This is the first episode to have multiple characters appear in the dodging pattern.

- This is the 3rd episode (1st in-universe) to be over 40 minutes long, following "Chapter Complete" and "Seasonal Shift".
- Counting every part of BFDIA 5 as 1 episode, then this is the 4th (2nd in-universe).
- This is the longest single episode of BFDIA (single video, not counting BFDIA 5 as a whole), at 40 minutes and 20 seconds.
- When Nickel, Book and Tennis Ball are destroying Leafy's flags, the sound effect played is the same as when Firey, Leafy, Bubble and The Announcer were repeatedly killing each other and getting recovered at the end of BFDI 24.
- In release date order, BFDIA will be the first season where the final four are without Flower and Leafy.
- This is the second time where Needle told Coiny that she's no longer a W.O.A.H. Buncher, following in "Insectophobe's Nightmare 4".
- Despite Tennis Ball saying that onions reduce nausea, onions can actually make nausea worse due the pugnet smell and acidity of them.

- With Pin's elimination with 45,806 dislikes, she has the highest number of dislikes, surpassing Ruby's record of 32,594 dislikes in "Spore Day".
- There are no more former Squishy Cherries members competing at this point in this season.
- This is the only episode where Pin is eliminated that doesn't have "Power of (number)" in the title.
- If Pin had used one of her two Win Tokens, and the Fish Monster or Leafy had allowed her to use it (similarly to how Puffball Speaker Box allowed Yellow Face to use a Win Token in "Catch These Hands"), then Pin would have been safe and Coiny would have been eliminated, with 22,903 effective votes to his 24,308.

- Both were released in August, almost exactly 1 year apart.

- The cover of Pin's diary reading "Diary of a Pinny Pin" and overall appearance is a reference to the covers of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid book series.
- When Needle walks Leafy through the Evil Forest, Leafy utters "I've got a bad feeling about this.", which is a common verbatim heard throughout the Star Wars franchise.
- Needle & Woody both do the hands of sincerity, which originates from the animated series Clone High.
- In fact, this is the third time this has been referenced after "Spore Day", in which Needle does this pose, and "We're Not Friends", in which the Fish Monster does a similar pose.
- One of the challenges on the challenge wheel is to collect 7 pages. This could be a reference to the horror game Slenderman, and or a reference to the YouTuber “Okay Videos” who has popularized saying “collect my 8 evil pages” recently during his recent reactions to the series when he sees evil leafy show up on screen. Notably Cary has interacted with him & commented on a few of his TikTok’s so it wouldn’t be too surprising if he had included this as a memento/easter egg for him when he catches up.
- During the scene where Coiny and Needle fight over Leafy being put in the desert and snowy tundra, the Minecraft hurt sound effect can be heard when she gets frozen.
- The "Ring Around the Pig Yum" game played at the end of the episode is a clear parody of the children's game of "Ring Around the Rosie".
Differences between the early meetup version and the final YouTube release[]
- From 1:06 to 1:29, there is a new scene in the final not shown in the meetup.
- Throughout the entire episode, the Pristine Plains keeps lacking many stuff in the meetup version.
- At 3:55, Tennis Ball is seemingly holding something else instead of the ambrosia cake.
- At 5:11, Book doesn't appear sitting next to Coiny when Pin is trying to do a cartwheel. However, in the final version, we can see her next to Coiny.
- At 5:57, Leafy and Tennis Ball are shown to at different placements at the meetup compared to the final.
- At 7:27, the challenge results are shown to be bigger in the meetup version compared to the final.
- At 8:39, the alliance logos aren't shown in the meetup version of the episode.
- At 9:11, the cracks formed from Needle's flag aren't shown in the meetup version.
- At 10:10, Book is shown to be missing in the meetup version compared to the final, not too long later at 10:15, Book is shown present at the meetups but missing in the final version.
- At 12:57, the background for Yoyleland is much more empty in the meetup version.

- At 35:39, the meetup version is much more zoomed in compared to the final, more characters are also shown to be chasing after Needle and Leafy causing a much tighter crowd in the final version.
- At 36:10, Coiny is shown to be bringing down Leafy faster in the final version compared to the meetups, along with this, the background ends up zooming out, the same applies to when Needle is jumping down a few scenes later.
- At 36:36, the scene where Coiny, Needle and Leafy are going down the pit doesn't appear in the meetup version.
- At 36:57, there are less Magma particles in the meetup version compared to the final, the scene where Coiny is trying to connect with Pin at 37:01 doesn't appear at the meetups.
- At 37:06, the scene where Needle continues to bring down Leafy to the Earth's Core ended up being rotated in the final version.
- At 37:10, it cuts straight to the next scene at the meetups but goes up to the next scene in the final version.
- At 38:34, Book is shown to be darker in the final version compared to the meetups, another difference is the fire particles being drastically different.
Goofs[]
- At 5:09, Pin’s leg is slightly detached.
- At 13:47, the "Wall" part of "Stupid Wall" briefly disappears right before the wall collapses, and during the collapse, the style of the "Stupid" part changes.
- At 23:36, Book is shown to have 27 flags. However, at the end of the challenge (At 39:07), Book only has 24 flags. This is most likely due to three of those flags being destroyed, possibly destroying them herself on accident.
- At 32:56, Pin still has her drill, despite losing it in the tornado earlier.
- At 39:29, Pencil is seen next to Yellow Face, but at 39:52, she is seen next to Golf Ball.
Deaths[]
- Bomby falls into the Goiky Canal and is crushed by his building, also drowning in the process.
- Pan Flute and his bandmates died when they fall into the crack on his stage. (debatable)
