"Yeah, Who? I Wanna Know" is the 1st episode of Battle for Dream Island Again, the 2nd season of Battle for Dream Island, and the 26th episode overall. It was released on Friday, June 29, 2012 at 11:47:06 PM PST (GMT-8).

In this episode, the characters find out who achieved enough votes in BFDI Second Season Voting to advance to the season.

The chase[]

After Leafy buys Dream Island in "Return of the Hang Glider", Golf Ball, Pin, Tennis Ball, Pencil, Pen, Blocky, Teardrop, Coiny, and Ice Cube are shown chasing her through a gate, over many hills and through Evil Forest. As she carefully crosses the Evil Canyon, a map lands on her face, causing her to fall over and hang on with her hand for her life. She phrases; "Blue skidoo, we can too!" allowing her to jump into the map and get transported to Yoyleland. Pin quickly catches the map and tears it into tiny pieces non-hesitantly before releasing them into the air upwards, trapping Leafy in Yoyleland.

After the dramatic and intense beginning, Pen approaches Eraser, Blocky, and Snowball before pointing out the BFDI voting results. The total votes are 15,532. Overall, the contestants who made it are Rocky, Nickel, Firey, Leafy, Teardrop, Bomby, Bubble, Needle, Spongy, Dora, Pin, Ruby, Tennis Ball, Coiny, Pencil, Match, Ice Cube, Flower, Donut, and Fries. TV separates the Season 2 contestants from the ones who failed to join, with a screaming audio. One of those is Book, who is frustrated and upset that she didn't make it. Lollipop speculates that Book didn't make it because viewers judged her by her cover. Book isn't sure whether she should be angry or indifferent about the remark.

Suddenly, a sheet titled "BFDI GAME RULES" flies into Book’s face aggressively. Eraser snatches the sheet and reads aloud Rule 1, which states contestants not present cannot compete. Coiny feels good about that rule. Since Bubble, Nonexisty, Leafy, Woody, and Flower are absent, they are disqualified, allowing Book, Puffball, and Yellow Face to join. Also, since InternPony707 and DegrasssiFan got to pick a character they wanted to join the 2nd season, Golf Ball (InternPony707's pick) and Gelatin (DegrasssiFan's pick) made it. Book’s personality turns confident now that she is confirmed to compete in the new season. Fries backs away with his arms raised since he can't stand Book's cover. An annoyed Book slaps Fries and whips out one of his fries, eating it. In return, Fries slaps Book, making her spit out the old fry, and eats one of Book's pages. He spits it out seconds later, and Book unceremoniously reattaches the page, as Fries looks awkwardly.

Gelatin asks who will be the host of the show. Puffball responds by singing, "Yeah, who? I wanna know!" while floating around and changing size. Everyone seems happy except for Rocky. Firey appears to be hypnotized until he shakes himself awake. He then suggests that TV should be the host since he is closest to the Announcer. In response, TV displays the word "YAY" on his screen and makes a loud "ta-da" sound. Golf Ball asks Eraser about additional rules, and he reads out Rule 2. It states that all eliminated contestants must be killed. Then, within seconds, they are all crushed as they scream. As it turns out, Eraser only hallucinated; the real rule states that all eliminated contestants must be treated with TLC. Thus, the characters who didn't get enough votes to join BFDIA received a punishment where they were flung into the Tiny Loser Chamber, with most characters screaming again.

Picking the teams[]

The contestants were divided into two teams: the originals and newbies. Donut's team was smaller, which led to a fight when Pencil told him to deal with it. Donut slapped Pencil, who then stabbed Donut. Donut retaliated by burning Pencil with Firey. Firey tried to calm Donut down, but he refused to listen. Puffball then came up with an idea: if one original contestant switched to the newbies' team, then the 2 teams would be equal. Donut chose Match to upset Pencil. In response, Pencil (who inhaled her flames in shock) exhaled her flames onto Donut, accidentally burning Book instead, causing her to scream for a brief second before a cut-off to the next scene.

Yellow Face then reads Rule 3, which says contestants should spin the wheel to choose each contest. Fries is very impatient as Gelatin is about to spin the wheel. Then Firey states one more rule—rule four: Players may switch teams if they want before a contest begins. Match immediately heads back to Pencil's team happily. Gelatin goes to the originals team, stating that “their team is stronger”, which causes a chain reaction for every newbie except Donut to go to Pencil's team since it has more members and is, therefore, stronger. The wide-screen format grows even wider to emphasize Donut and Pencil's intense stares at each other. Pencil intervenes by pulling the screen to a portrait size that shows her full body, saying she likes that screen better. Match agrees cheerfully while the others change the screen to their liking. Firey suggests that everyone show their favorite screens. Various screens are shown until Golf Ball urges everyone to stop. Coiny switches teams after Firey is about to slap him. Then everybody urges Pin to switch teams until she finally does so.

For the initial challenge, Gelatin spins the wheel. It lands on "tug of war," prompting a collective gasp from the competitors. Once the BFDIA intro concludes, the team with more members easily emerges as the victor. Consequently, the team consisting of only three individuals is put up for elimination. The voting process has been modified, with each contestant having a video. The video with the most dislikes will be eliminated, while the video with the most likes will receive a reward.

Ending[]

In the end, Leafy is shown to still be in Yoyleland, sitting on the ground with a recommended character called Boombox created by Anko6. Boombox advertises the Leafy detector until Leafy turns him off. The episode then ends in silence, Leafy still keeping her same blank expression.

  • This episode marks the first in which the following occurs:
    • This is the first episode of BFDIA, as well as the first episode of BFDIA not to contain any deaths (excluding Book being set on fire and Eraser’s hallucination)
    • The first appearances of Gelatin and Puffball in the BFDI series.
    • The first episode to have Blocky, Snowball, and David appear without speaking.
    • The first episode in which contestants that are both armless and legless compete.
    • The first episode that the voting was cast by rating the videos of the characters UFE, by either liking their video for the contestant to receive a prize, or disliking to have them be eliminated.
    • Using US West Coast time zones, this is the first episode not to be released on the 1st day of a month, as it was uploaded on June 29th, 2012.
    • Bubble doesn't appear.
  • This episode was reanimated in "BFDIA 1 Re-Animated By 95 People! - (Fan-Made)" and was uploaded on jacknjellify on July 31, 2020.
  • In around June 2023, Nickelodeon Pakistan used animation of Pencil from this episode in a promo for Nick Genius 2023.[1] The animation was taken from a green screen video made by Ultrocraze of Pencil saying "You'll pay for that, Donut". at 4:35 in the episode.
  • Another Name in the last season is the only team that all members in that team compete in Season 2.
  • Unlike the last season, this season's premiere is not in 2 parts.
  • Fries went through a major character re-design since he was last seen in Reveal Novum.
    • Nickel also went through a major character re-design, losing his arms and sign.
    • Ruby also went through a re-design; however, only her colors are different.
  • Donut has his old design in the scenes where he appears on-screen, until the part where he talks to pay an homage.
  • Match and Ruby also went through a quite noticeable voice change since last season, but now their voices sound sharper pitched.
    • This is because her voice was created with [Studio], as mentioned by Cary on his BFB 3 reaction video (even though Ruby was voiced by Michael at this time).
  • Gaty had an upside-down mouth at times.
  • While Eraser is reading Rule 2, Rule 3 states "No reading ahead" instead of "Spin the wheel to choose the next contest".
  • David, Eraser, Firey, Match, Needle, Rocky, Snowball, and Spongy were not seen chasing Leafy.
    • Eraser was the only contestant who previously inspected Leafy's stealing of Dream Island that was not seen chasing her at the beginning of the episode.
  • Ice Cube, Rocky, Spongy, and Teardrop were the only contestants who didn't root for Pin to switch to Coiny and Donut's team.
  • An "alternate cut" of 0:38 to 1:25 was uploaded to Jacknjellify 5 days after the release of this episode. The scene is like the original, but with darker colors, echoed voices, and 6 Evil Leafy cameos. This video is most likely a joke.
  • Rocky starts to smile less in this season. The only time Rocky smiles in this episode are in the intro and when everyone is showing their favorite screens.
  • This is the second time Coiny was up for elimination first.
  • In the tug-of-war challenge, Coiny falls first, Pin falls second, and Donut last. However, Donut lands first, Pin falls second, and Coiny falls last.
  • This is the most viewed episode in BFDIA, and the 3rd most viewed of all Jacknjellify's videos, behind "Take the Plunge: Part 1" and the Season 1 episode compilation. It is also the channel's most viewed video from 2012.

  • When Book is set on fire, she screams like Firey.
  • The first spoken word is "don't", as the previous message was "Don't...".
  • Rocky and Bracelety were the most and least voted to join BFDIA respectively. coincidentally, both of them had the number 1 as their first digit and the number 8 as their last digit in their voring results. Rocky at 1,008 votes and Bracelety at 18 votes.
  • In "Seasonal Shift", Clapboard time-travels back to this episode. In the altered timeline, he lets Leafy escape, angering the BFDI contestants, who attempt to execute Clapboard. However, BaggedBagged arrive just in time and fix the timeline correction before bringing Clapboard safely back to the present.

Continuity references[]

  • The episode begins with the contestants chasing Leafy for stealing Dream Island.
    • In "Who Stole Donut's Diary?", it's revealed that Leafy was suddenly running by herself because the hang glider crashed.
  • Leafy says "Blue skidoo, we can too!" a second time in order to teleport through her map. The last time this happened was in "The Glistening".
  • Leafy, Flower, Woody, and Bubble are removed from the season voting due to their deaths in "Return of the Hang Glider". However, Leafy didn't die.
  • In Eraser's hallucination, the eliminated contestants were crushed by a large cuboid similar to the one on the Announcer Crusher.
  • Some of the challenges on the wheel are references to the challenges in BFDI.
  • It was revealed later on in "SOS (Save Our Show)" that the Announcer forged the BFDI game rules.

Cultural references[]

  • Leafy says "Blue skidoo, we can too!", which is a reference to the kids' show Blue's Clues.
  • Book saying "Hey! Wait..." 3 times is a reference to the Homestar Runner toon "Strongest Man in the World".
  • When Tennis Ball suggests a team where one team has the original contestants and the other should have the newcomers, it could be an homage to Survivor: Micronesia, an inspiration for the Battle for Dream Island series.
    • Survivor: Micronesia's twist is known as "Fans vs. Favourites" whereas the newcomers (the Fans) would be placed on the Airai Tribe while the former players (the Favourites) would be placed on the Malakal Tribe.
    • In BFDIA's case, the early version of W.O.A.H. Bunch before Pin, Coiny and Donut become the only members of the team would briefly reminisce the Fans while Team No-Name prior to being the largest team would reminisce the Favourites.
  • Puffball's favorite screen being a silhouette of Abraham Lincoln could be a reference to an easter egg in the Homestar Runner "Fluffy Puff Commercial" toon, where pressing the "L" button causes the screen to have a silhouette of Abraham Lincoln's head.
  • Rocky's favorite screen being a silhouette of the logo of The Wiggles, an Australian children's music group.
  • When the results are shown and Book says "I'm a wonderful book", Lollipop says "I guess people judged you by your cover", which is a reference to the idiom "Don't judge a book by its cover".

Goofs[]

  • After Tennis Ball asks if the Leafy chase went too far, Golf Ball says if they stopped she would steal Dream Island even though she already did.
    • However, she could've meant that Leafy would get away with stealing Dream Island.
  • At 2:30, when non-present contestants are being erased from the voting results, Golf Ball's name is completely missing from the scoreboard. It was fixed by an annotation until annotations were removed in 2017.
  • When Puffball said "Yeah who? I wanna know!" for the first time, Gelatin's arm is detached for a split-second, and Coiny and Golf Ball just randomly appear out of nowhere. Not only that, but when she says it for the third time, they aren't near Tennis Ball. However, when she says it for the 4th time, the duo are.
  • Eraser is seen in front of Pen when he tells Eraser, Blocky, and Snowball to look at the TV displaying season 2 contestants. Eraser is then seen among the crowd around TV, less than one second later.
  • At 2:36 when Book, Yellow Face, and Puffball are being dropped, screaming can be heard, even though none of their mouths moved.
    • When the rejected characters scream when they get crushed or getting sent to the TLC, some of them have their mouths not moving or having a scary expression.
  • At 0:45, Tennis Balls sound is glitchy.
  • At 1:39, One of Teardrop's arm is missing. if it was behind her body it would be seen because teardrop is transparent and pencils arm can be seen through her body.
  • At 2:06, Tennis Ball's white part is on the wrong place.
  • At 2:50, Spongy is missing his legs.
  • At 3:49, Firey's flame isn't moving.
  • At 5:16 There's a floating arm between Match and Needle.
  • At 5:42, Coiny's mouth appears darker.
  • When the contestants split between newbies and original contestants, Ruby's body overlaps Bomby's string.
  • When everyone is yelling "Switch", Bomby's arm goes on his face.
  • After Firey suggests to show their favorite screens, there is an arm floating near Needle. Surprisingly, he doesn't have legs at this scene.
  • Some contestants constantly buzz every time they talk.
  • In BFDIA 5a, Coiny said that if Nickel and he get too close, "bad things" happen (which was demonstrated in "The Long-lost Yoyle City"). However, at 2:29 in this episode, Nickel is standing right beside Coiny pretty close and nothing happened.
  • The Sender Scoop Thrower somehow flings Black Hole despite his ability to suck anything and fly.
  • When Pencil is turning her screen vertical, her arm is detached for a split-second.
  • TV isn't touching the ground during the contest.
  • At 6:26, Teardrop can be seen walking in mid-air.
  • During the challenge, Ice Cube is missing her mouth.
